Beta BLUF and Legal Posture
FamilyOS is intended to help parents and families organize pregnancy, postpartum, baby, mood, fertility, nutrition, faith, family planning, and eventually finance-related information. FamilyOS is not a medical provider, mental health provider, fertility clinic, registered dietitian, financial advisor, bank, insurer, emergency service, or crisis hotline. Users must use professional judgment, consult qualified professionals, and seek emergency help when safety, health, mental health, pregnancy, infant care, or financial risks are involved.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of FamilyOS, including our websites, mobile applications, beta features, AI features, content, communications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). These Terms are between you and [Legal Entity Name] ("FamilyOS," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, accessing the Service, clicking "I agree," joining a beta, or using any FamilyOS feature, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Service.
Acceptance of These Terms
You accept these Terms when you use the Service. You also agree to any additional posted rules, policies, disclosures, feature notices, order forms, app-store terms, beta invitations, or consent screens that apply to a specific feature. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a feature-specific notice, the feature-specific notice controls only for that feature unless it says otherwise.
Who May Use FamilyOS
The Service is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their place of residence, whichever is higher. FamilyOS is designed for parents, expectant parents, guardians, caregivers, and family members who have the right to enter, view, or manage family-related information.
FamilyOS is not intended for children to create their own accounts. If you enter information about a child, baby, pregnancy, family member, spouse, partner, caregiver, or other person, you represent that you have the legal authority, consent, or family authorization needed to do so.
Account Registration and Security
- Provide accurate information, keep it current, and protect your login credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account unless it results from our failure to use reasonable security measures.
- Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Beta Program Rules
Beta features may change, break, or be removed. Beta output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unfinished. You agree to provide feedback in good faith and to not misrepresent beta output as final product behavior or professional advice.
What FamilyOS Is and Is Not
FamilyOS provides educational, organizational, journaling, reminder, and preparation support. FamilyOS is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, prevent, monitor, or manage medical conditions. Pregnancy and postpartum content is for general education and organization only. Always follow your clinician's guidance over FamilyOS content or AI output. Seek prompt professional help for concerning symptoms, and never use FamilyOS to decide whether to delay care, change medication, or manage a high-risk pregnancy.
AI and Automated Features
- Review AI output before relying on it, sharing it, or acting on it.
- Do not use AI output for emergency, medical, mental health, fertility, infant-care, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions without qualified professional review.
- Some AI features may be labeled experimental, beta, automated, or limited. Do not misrepresent AI output as professional advice.
User Content and Family Data
You keep ownership of the content you add to FamilyOS. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you and, where you allow it, for your invited partner.
Privacy, Data Protection, and Consent
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You can contact us at [privacy@familyos.example] for privacy-related questions. Some features may require separate consent, including sensitive data processing, family sharing, child-related information, health-related data, AI processing, marketing, cookies, analytics, location, or third-party integrations. If you withdraw consent or disable a permission, some features may stop working.
Acceptable Use
- Do not use FamilyOS to break the law or harm others.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to FamilyOS.
- Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.
Intellectual Property and Feedback
FamilyOS and its software, design, branding, logos, templates, workflows, prompts, content, documentation, graphics, and features are owned by FamilyOS or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for lawful personal or authorized family use. You may send us feedback; you grant FamilyOS the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, unless we have a separate written agreement.
Service Availability, Changes, and Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, subject to reasonable notice where practical. We may change, add, or remove Service features at our discretion.
Disclaimers and Liability Limits
FamilyOS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent allowed by law, FamilyOS and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, licensors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, enhanced, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, emotional distress, personal injury, pregnancy or infant-care outcomes, fertility outcomes, health outcomes, financial losses, or loss of goodwill. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid FamilyOS in the 12 months before the event; or (b) $100.
Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
Governing law, venue, and dispute-resolution terms will be finalized by counsel prior to public launch. During beta, disputes should first be raised with us in writing at [legal@familyos.example] so we can attempt a good-faith resolution.
Contact and Notices
You agree that we may send notices by email, in-app message, account notification, or website posting. Legal notices: [Legal Entity Name], [Mailing Address], [legal@familyos.example]. If you change your email address, update your account so we can send required notices.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
